Wacky stories update

Task 2

In order to produce an effective story opening consist of a creative story plot.Therefoe I have researched 5 weird and wacky stories that actually happened around the world.

This will benefit of gaining the idea of how I can consume any type of story idea and expand this into a more creative and imaginative film that will bring amazement for the audience expectations. Each wacky story chosen will present the activity that actually happen in real life and I will be presenting my own modifications of these wacky stories into my own film vision aspect.

Pain in the neck (News)

Phillip Loveday, a former soldier was playing rugby for the Army, when a 22 stone opposing player came crashing down on him.
It was only when Mr Loveday, aged 59, went to hospital after dislocating his shoulder, that it was then discovered he had a fracture of his C3 vertebra!

Scenario cases

I believe that this story may be a viewed as a film where it involves conflict, depression, revenge and jealousy. In my own vision these genre will be a great component of producing this story as a film. This film can be a more family type film more suitable for elderly people since it includes an old man aged 59 who was a former soldier for the army.

The genres obviously match the story plot and also create many examples of situations that can occur. Each example represents scenario cases that can happen with the following genres.

I believe that conflict can be involved with this story plot as the 59 year old man may have had ‘heat’ against the man who injured him. This can present with the hatred past that they had against each other and can present the situation of how the conflict actually started.

Depression is also a key element as you know the 59 year old man is paralyzed and is not able to do anything he wishes to do. This is an effective way of presenting a sad moment of the story plot.

Revenge is an element involving the man injuring the 59 year old probably because of a situation that happened between their past that might of been very crucial. Therefore this will be the motivation of the man.

Cinematography

I have many ideas of how I can use this short story into presenting as a film:

1.      The story could start of as a short montage of Phillip in his war days with the 22 stone man as his team partner and of course Phillip may have won a outrageous war with the help of the 22 stone man leading to him being awarded for his bravery but not the 22 stone man because he wasn’t mentioned by Phillip as he committed that no one helped him.

2.      The film then leads to 22 years later where Philip is now 59 years old and still have the reputation of bravery in which presents him as very big headed. We then come across the facial expression of the 22 stone man in his 50s feeling very depressed and of course lonely as usually not being praised at all of all his support.

3.      Then it leads to the Phillip playing rugby with his old colleague from his training camp including the 22 stone man

4.      The 22 stone man sees Phillip and builds up his anger involving with flashbacks of him being awarded and enjoying his life.

5.      This then leads to the 22 stone man rugby tackling Phillip in his full rage in which Phillip is injured and crying for help as he’s not able to breath.

6.      The 22 stone man then realises his mistakes and runs off as everyone crowds around Phillip

7.      Phillip is taken into hospital and being checked and presents snapshots of his spinal cord.

8.      Then presents where the 22 stone man is about to visit Phillip holding gifts and then sees Phillip in a wheel chair

9.      This then leads to present the facial expression of the 22 stone mans face as very shocked and guilty.

Woman choked teen boy at mall over Facebook comments, police say

Police have arrested a 46-year-old woman they say choked a teen boy in the middle of Tyrone Square Mall because he had posted comments on Facebook that upset her daughter.

Story idea

This already seems like a comedy type of film viewing that the young teen boy was strangled by an old women. However this can also refer to a serious type of film may not be suitable for kids but more suitable for teenagers and adults referring to the affection of cyber bullying. This category can come across a situation why the mother was very furious over the teen boy because in today’s aspect social network is the most popular uses of the internet industry, where many people can socialize and communicate on the web, but this can create a drawback for many people where nowadays bullying has become a simple task for everyone.

This is an fantastic way of developing this idea into a film vision aspect suited for a teenage group audience because many teenagers have facebook and cyber bullying is mostly effected worldwide, also it would be a great dramatic situation where the mother finds out and attacks the young teenager which would be very hilarious but in some cases can create a serious moment.

This story plot can refer to many teenage films such as Kidulthood where it does include bullying occurring and also other films such as fall out. Both films create a serious moment however the story plot should be more uplifted in some cases a creates a mixture of comedy and thriller.

Cinematography

1.      The film begins with the daughter who is 16 years old studying her a levels in college and of course she is very lonely and humble presented as a short montage.

2.      Presenting a group of other teenagers gossiping and laughing at the girl and of course the teenager boy is the one who bullies her

3.      The teenager boy does many harsh actions to the girl in which he terrorizes her everyday at college. Presents a scene where he threatens her not to tell her parents.

4.      The girl hides away her innocent face as she gets dropped off at home

5.      The girl goes to her room and views her facebook page, plays her music very loud which then becomes as a background music

6.      Presentation of her facebook pages and viewing many harsh comments on her facebook page

7.      Parents are very concerned and fed up of the music and tells their daughter to turn it off however the daughter doesn’t turn it off for a while which makes the parents very concerned

8.      Jumps into a shot of the door being knocked down and present the young girl being hanged as the music tone decreases

I used the similar ideas from the film kidulthood where a young girl hangs herself because she was bullied however I modified this particular scene into a plot where a young girl was bullied because of her facebook page and her personality which may effect this situation to happen. It seems very depressing and very sudden because I want to present the cause of bullying in where it leads to.

Black bear in tree forces Winter Park museum to close for day

WINTER PARK -- A black bear camped out in a tree forced a Winter Park museum to close on Sunday, officials said. The bear was immediately shot down after to attempting to attack two police officers

Story idea opinion

This would be an interesting story that can be referred to a fantasy film. Of course this will be related to films such as free Wiley, Alvin and the chipmunk, Garfield ect however could present a depressing ending of the bear. I can imagine this film to be a Disney film that’s probably suitable for children and it’s more a family type film.

Cinematography/Scenario cases

The bear could be an animal that escapes the zoo after being tortured and terrorised however meets a young boy who helps him and keeps him in his stable which explains that his parents own a farm. The bear has a power to speak to the young boy and becomes very friendly with him. Later presents the news where the bear is now wanted and they ask the people to find the bear in order to receive a large salary. The parents realises that the young boy is keeping the bear but the young boy informs them about the situation. Someone finds out about the bear hiding in the child’s stable and tells the police. This leads to the bear escaping and of course comes across a situation where an officer shot the bear because he was attacking the people that tried to take him down.

How an 11-year-old evaded security at Manchester Airport

An investigation has been launched at Manchester Airport after 11-year-old Liam Corcoran managed to fly to Rome on his own without a passport or a boarding pass.

Story idea opinion

This news is very bizarre but amazing of how someone can get a free travel to Rome without any passport so it then came down to me of how I would plot this into an interesting story. This story could be referred to a Disney movie since it includes a 11 year old boy, by having the amazing skill to overcome the airport I thought the kid should have psychic powers for example stop time or supper powers ect. However for him having the journey to Rome could consider that he had to accomplish a responsibility in that country.

Another story idea which I could relate to apart from the physic power strategy is to present a young boy who is a trouble maker for example referring to Dennis the menace or home alone. The story could present where him and his family are about to go to a holiday to another country such as Spain. However the young boy might of come across a situation of him accidentally entering the wrong plane and then his parents realises that their son is gone. Later on the young boy manages to live and get familiar with himself in Rome but a cross with two thugs that sees the luxury of the boy and attempts to kidnap him sot therefore this is more related to the film home alone.

Boy Turns into a Yam
Three pupils of the Evangelist Primary School in the northern Nigerian town of Maiduguri rushed into the headmistresses office in March 2000 and said that a fellow pupil had been transformed into a yam after accepting a sweet from a stranger. The headmistress found the root tuber and took it to the police station for safe-keeping. Following local radio reports, hundreds of people flocked to see the yam and police were hunting for the sweet-giver. What happened next failed to reach the media.

Essay

The main rules of producing a good story are always to have a brilliant plot or a pitch that explains the whole story together. Without this strong device the story wouldn’t become very interesting because a strong plot always links into other situations that can come across during a story that can create unexpected moments and also has affection to the audience that creates emotions for them. There are always many other important components which links into producing a good story.

A story always contains three sections which in the beginning always present the set up and equilibrium. This presents the relationship between the main character and the other people who inhabit their landscape of their world to be established. In simple terms This obviously presents the characteristics of the main character and how they are involved with the main story so for example the little red riding hood is the main character who comes across as an innocent girl lives in a  cottage with her parent and being sent to provide her gift to her grandmother.

The 2nd part of preplanning a story always consist a confrontation and disruption. This is where the main characters encounter an obstacle that keeps them from achieving their dramatic end. In simple terms this explains how the character may come across a lot of situation that creates a lot of systematic drama scenes. For example The slave saving the lion obviously comes across where the lion will not attack the slave therefore links into another drama scene where the master forgives the slaves and obviously doesn’t become slaughter if this was the case then it would of encountered where the slave wouldn’t become demolished by the lion if he would never of saved it therefore either any scenario cases that may occur between the lion and the man could create a disruption.

The last part of preplanning a story always contains a resolution where a new equilibrium is produced and presents how a new set up has comes across. In simple terms this explains that after the ending has comes across every characters are changed into their set up for example after the grandmother was eaten by the wolf her set up changes where she is more protective of locking her house and becoming safe, The little red riding hood now becomes protective over her grandmother and learns to never talk to strangers, The wolf learns to never come across the woodcutter and also the wood cutter learns to always destroy any wolf that tries to eat someone. Overall the planning strategy always present of how whenever a story is written it must be changed and the characters must develop that explains why every plot links into another situation.

Apart from preplanning the story into 3 section there are components in which is compulsory to use to produce an effective story. Logical causality is also a component where a story contains a series of interconnected event sthat always leads to a resolution and the reason why its important to include this to every story that are being produced is because usually story causes things to happen that are in order to make the actually story sense, if it doesn’t occur then the audience will be confused and the story would not make any sense at all. For example a story presents where a slave meets a lion and saves the lion and the master misses the slave as he escapes. This doesn’t make any sense to present why did the slave escape the master if he was so generous and very polite to him and also where does the freedom become an involvement where he meets the lion, therefore the story doesn’t make any sense and its also not very expandable. Overall a story always needs to include empathy which effects the audiences feeling about the characters for example the wolf could have feelings for the audience to actually get rid of him and know what’s going to happen to the wolf in the future. A story always needs tension in which creates a scenario for the audience to question ‘What’s going to happen next?’ Finally a story always contains an element of surprise that always present an interesting image of the story.

spiderman the movie

Spiderman the movie

Set up/equilibrium:

Peter parker is a young teenager who apparently discovers an amazing power by being bitten by a spider who lives with his uncle and aunty.

Mary Jane is a beautiful young girl who peter has a crush on since the 5th grade

There is also a man named Mr Osborne who discovers an evil power In which he commits crime and consider to be the villain

Action/plot

  1. Peter parker catches the school bus and sees a beautiful girl that seems attracted to-This is a plot for the story because if he didn’t find the girl attracted then he wouldn’t be interested of trying to impress her with his powers of putting himself into activities such as wrestling to have money to buy a car.
  2. the school visits the museum and peter parker and his friend Harry Osborne tours around the museum-If peter never visited the museum he would never of met Mary Jane or gotten close to her
  3. Peter parker sees the beautiful girl Mary Jane and asks her to take some pictures for his photography-If peter never asked Mary Jane or even talked to her then she would never of been interested or Harry would have had the opportunity
  4. a spider comes down and bites peter parker on their hand-Without the spider there would be no Spiderman
  5. Peter gets dropped off by his friend Harry and becomes very sleepy as his hand has a massive spot-He would of suffered on his own without the drop of Harry or he would of died
  6. peter wakes up the next morning in which he doesn’t need his glasses anymore and feels very strong-This is also a plot where peter can now defend himself to the bully
  7. Peter comes to school in which Mary Jane is surprised of peters new look without the glasses
  8. Peter becomes awkward as his spider sticks with everything and accidentally swings the plate of beans onto the bully flash-If he never used his web then he would never knew that he had the power of shooting spider webs and also he would never got himself into a fight and defeat the bully
  9. Peter gets into a fight with flash in which peter knocks him out-without knocking him out peter would never knew his strengths of his new power
  10. Peter runs away and tests his powers-Without testing his powers he would never accomplish anything that saves a life.
